How to Get Here

Ireland West Airport (NOC) is located approximately 39kms from Castlebar with regular services from England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Bus Éireann operates a transfer service from Ireland West Airport to Castlebar – see Route 440.

Dublin Airport, (DUB) 242km from Castlebar,  is Ireland's largest airport with flights from almost everywhere! There are numerous car hire companies in Dublin Airport and the GoBus coach service serves Castlebar, via Galway. You can also get the Airlink bus to Heuston Station for an onward train journey, or to Busáras if you choose to travel by bus.

Shannon Airport (SNN) is located 158km south of Castlebar. Car hire is available at the airport but there are no train links. Transport to Castlebar is via bus to Galway City and then onward to Castlebar.

Cork Airport (ORK) is 176km south of Castlebar. There are no transport links between Cork Airport and Castlebar but car hire is available at the airport.

Belfast has two airports – Belfast International Airport (BFS) handles both international and domestic flights while George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD) mainly handles domestic flights within Ireland and the UK. Car hire is available from both airports and public transport to Castlebar is via Belfast and Dublin by train and / or bus – see the airport websites for information.
