The IML is a worldwide walking association with over 20 members. Since its foundation in 1987 the IML has pursued two main goals - firstly, to encourage walkers to cross international frontiers and secondly to bring people of different cultures and traditions together.
Countless walkers have participated in IML events all over the world, many of whom would never have considered walking in other countries without the motivation of the IML.

Each IML walk has its own distinct character – some, like the famous Nijmegen walks, attracting huge numbers and others, like our own walking festival in Castlebar, small and intimate. Regardless of which IML event you choose to walk, there is always one certainty – you will see lots of familiar faces!
